The Purple Carrot service:
Purple Carrot is a meal kit delivery service that provides a fully plant-based menu to the 48 contiguous states. They would love to see a world where vegan eating is a mainstream choice with people embracing plant-based diets because of their health, the environment, and animal welfare.
Purple Carrot delivers meal kits that are complete with fresh, portioned ingredients combined with easy to follow recipes. Purple Carrot is all about convenience with meals that are easy to prepare and tasty enough to please the most dedicated carnivores! We enjoyed our Purple Carrot experience in terms of taste, but we did find some of their ingredients to be a little questionable when it came to quality. Because of this, we do recommend having a look at other meal kit delivery services that we believe offer better service when it comes to vegan choices.
Purple Carrot Ideal audience:
Purple Carrot is ideally suited for those who follow a vegan diet as well as those who would simply like to increase their intake of plant-based ingredients. They also have a plan called the TB12 plan that has been created for those who have physically demanding lives and who require a high-protein diet.

Purple Carrot meal taste review
Part of our review process at the Meal Kit Comparison involves trying a range of dishes from each company that we are assessing. We enjoyed the Purple Carrot dishes; however, we did find that some of the ingredients were not of the best quality. An example of some of the dishes we enjoyed was the Californian Wedge Salad and the Gnocchi. We loved the tahini sauce and the paprika seasoning used in the Salad, and we thought that the Gnocchi had some interesting ingredient pairings such as dill and cabbage with pasta.
Purple Carrot Quality of the ingredients
We did find that the overall quality of the Purple Carrot ingredients was a little disappointing. Some of the ingredients were fresh and appealing such as the lettuce, radishes and carrots. Unfortunately, we had to replace the cucumbers and the avocado as they were inedible. We found it quite strange that especially as they are a plant-based company, that Purple Carrot does not share on their website where they source their ingredients from or what quality expectations they have from their suppliers. Are their suppliers local? Do they practice responsible farming? Do they avoid preservatives and additives? None of this information was available, so we do recommend having a look at the alternate vegan plans that are listed on our website. We think it is important that companies can provide information on where their ingredients come from and that as a customer, you can rely on them to provide ingredients that are consistently high quality.
Purple Carrot delivery review
Your Purple Carrot delivery arrives in a food delivery box that is labeled and includes insulating material within the box walls along with gel packs to keep your contents cool. The ingredients are well organized being sorted and labeled according to each dish, so there is minimal sorting required in the unpacking process. Purple Carrot is very aware of the impact they have on the environment, so the bulk of their packaging is reusable, recyclable and compostable.

Managing your Purple Carrot account:
Managing your account is super easy via the Purple Carrot website. You can easily subscribe to create an account where you then manage all elements of your subscription. In conclusion of our Purple Carrot review:
Purple Carrot offers an attractive service when it comes to making plant-based food appealing, tasty and accessible. They had a pleasing amount of variety and some great high-protein options. We enjoyed the flavors in the meals, but we were concerned with the quality of some of the ingredients.
